Naija Wedding Cultural Showcase Event 2025

A sold-out celebration of Nigerian culture, fashion, and joy! This immersive event brought together over 200 guests for a vibrant evening of traditional attire, music, and storytelling. From Past Events Gallerythe grand entrance to the cultural performances and food stations, Naija Wedding 2025 showcased the beauty of Yoruba and Igbo customs in a way that was both authentic and welcoming.

Dignitaries, newcomers, and longtime community members joined in the festivities, making it a night to remember.

Afrimotion 2025

Afrimotion 2025 brought the community together through movement, music, and wellness. This high-energy event blended African-inspired workouts with dance, stretching, and group fitness activities suitable for all ages and levels. Led by local instructors and cultural ambassadors, Afrimotion was more than just exercise—it was a celebration of health, rhythm, and unity.

Guests left feeling energized, connected, and proud to move in sync with African beats.

Afro Meet and Greet 2025

A warm and welcoming mixer for Afro-Canadians and newcomers in the Okanagan. This event fostered connections across generations and cultures, with icebreakers, storytelling, and shared meals. Students, professionals, and families came together to build community, exchange ideas, and celebrate African heritage in a relaxed and joyful setting.

It was a beautiful reminder that belonging begins with a simple hello.

Black History Month 2025

Black History Month Cultural Celebration in Kelowna was truly a night to remember. Hosted at the Kelowna Black Box Theatre, the event featured powerful performances, heartfelt tributes, and vibrant cultural showcases that honored the legacy and contributions of Black Canadians. From spoken word and live music to dance and storytelling, the evening brought together community members, leaders, and artists in a spirit of unity and pride.

Africans in Okanagan were proud to support and participate in this unforgettable celebration of heritage, resilience, and joy.

Other Partnered Events In 2025

Africans in Okanagan proudly collaborated on several partnered events across the region in 2025, amplifying African voices and fostering cross-cultural connection. Highlights included a powerful Black History Month program in Penticton with Roses Life Women Centre, celebrating Black culture through fashion, music, storytelling and food; Jambo Africa in Vernon with Vernon District Immigrant and Community Services Society, a lively showcase of African music, dance, and cuisine; and Westbank Multiculturalism Day with the Westbank Museum, where our team shared African traditions through storytelling and performance.
